Failover included in every plan
Devora Cloud · Reviewed on
Every Devora plan includes a protection copy, kept off, in the other country. It is not a second monthly fee.
Failover is the move to a standby when the copy serving traffic fails. On Devora that standby has the plan’s CPU and memory role and stays off in the other country.
If the United States is serving, the standby is in Germany, and the reverse. It does not share traffic while it is off. Turning on another copy to share traffic is a different feature, billed by the hour.
What must live off the local disk
The database and the files. If an upload lives on the copy’s disk, the standby comes up without that file. Use the managed database and S3. The AI creates both if you ask in the token request.
What failover does not do
It does not fix a code error. It is not a backup of deleted data. It is not a firewall. Those are three different problems.
Frequently asked questions
Do I pay for the standby every month?
No. It comes with the plan and stays off. What you pay by the hour is the extra copy you turn on.
